“Life is what you celebrate. All of it. Even if its the end.” Abner is a Boston native and new vintner with the launch of his inaugural wine Yvonne.
Abner, a 24year old Haitian-American operates his wine production based out of Maryland. The newest release is his inaugural wine, an ode to his late Grandmother. Yvonne is a white wine that can be described as an aromatic semi-sweet Gewürztraminer made with peaches. After attendance of many wine festivals, Abner began to explore, where are the black- owned winery’s? This affinity lead to his passion to not only create but diversify the wine industry.
As a whole the wine industry has grown tremendously as a profitable venture that has inflated from a $30 billion dollar industry in 2002 to a $60 dollar billion today. In relation to urban communities laced with package stores it seems only fit that shelves are stocked with the likes of new brands such as Montfleur Duvin and the likes of other upcoming Black Owned wine companies like the McBride Sisters.
Currently, Yvonne is available for purchase online and emerging locally in stores in Baltimore, Maryland with interests to expand.
